ABSTRACT. Dietary analysis of fish is an important part of understanding the ecology of a system. As part of a larger macrosystems project, we analyzed stomach contents from 6 different species of trout collected from rivers in the U.S. Great Basin (Nevada, Idaho, and Utah) and Mountain Steppe in Wyoming. Results of this study will be used as part of an ongoing study in Mongolia and the Great Plains. We expect species to partition their diets based on presence of competitors, and variation in diet among rivers based on prey availability.
