ABSTRACT: Yellow Perch are a prominent sportfish throughout the Great Lakes region and are targeted by both recreational and commercial anglers. Growth rates of perch are an important factor when considering perch fisheries management. For this project we collected fish at long-term research sites at multiple depths to determine the age class distribution that use the Indiana portion of Lake Michigan. Sampling was performed using gill nets and bottom trawls on a monthly basis from June to September 2017. Perch were sexed, measured for weight and length, and operculums removed for aging.
